Corporate retreats and team building in Bulgaria, without the conference hotel.
Some teams need more than another meeting room.

The Valley by Drift & Dwells is a small off-grid mountain village in the Rhodope Mountains near Chereshovo and Ortsevo, approximately 1,550 metres above sea level. Instead of sharing a hotel corridor, your group can spread out across available private cabins and the Stone House, then come together around the fire, at shared tables and in the open air.
The short answer: The Valley is a candidate for small-company offsites, creative retreats, founders' gatherings and unconventional team-building trips of up to 18 overnight guests when all current accommodation is available: five A-frame cabins (2 guests each), the Luxury Cabin (2) and the Stone House (up to 6). You can enquire about a group stay or reserve the whole active village through its dedicated buyout experience. Bed layout, price and unit availability still depend on your dates. Additional tents may be deployable for suitable groups on request; they are not part of the standard 18-guest capacity and are not permanently installed. The setting is deliberately remote, so access planning matters.
Why take a team into the mountains?
Most corporate events try to create connection by scheduling more activities. At The Valley, the environment does some of the work. People arrive away from normal meeting routines, stay in separate small buildings, share meals or coffee, and meet outdoors without a formal conference backdrop. A walk can be a conversation. A fireside evening can be a gathering, not another session that needs a presentation.
This is a place for teams who value honest conversation, thinking time and a bit of adventure. It is not presented as a scientifically proven way to increase productivity or an automatically facilitated corporate program. The programme is yours to design, with outside providers or facilitators arranged separately when needed.
What your company can actually book
Exclusive use of The Valley
The existing whole-Valley buyout covers every active accommodation building and shared outdoor spaces for the dates reserved, including the Stone House and the cabins that are in service. The booking interface calculates the dates and available inventory. Do not infer guest capacity from cabins that are not yet active. Request the current sleeping arrangement if guests need separate rooms or specific bed types.

A mixed group, together but not on top of each other
The Valley combines A-frame stays, a Luxury Cabin and a Stone House, subject to current availability. This allows individuals or smaller groups to have private sleeping spaces, with shared places to gather. Ask for the exact rooming plan before offering attendance to the team.
A setting suited to a different agenda
Guests can spend time around the communal fire area, enjoy mountain views and plan outdoor time in suitable weather. The Stone House and other shared areas provide places to come together, but the site is not a conventional equipped conference centre. Wi-Fi coverage, AV equipment, power requirements, catering, facilitator services and activity providers must be confirmed for each event; none should be assumed included in a standard booking.

Example: two nights, three days with a team
This is a sample self-organised agenda, not an included package or a promise of hosted activities.
Day 1: arrive, settle, eat together
Meet at the designated arrival point near Chereshovo. Complete the planned transfer or walk to The Valley, assign accommodation and leave a little unstructured time. Use the evening for an informal meal and a conversation around the fire where conditions permit.
Day 2: think, walk, reconnect
Choose one useful session in the morning: a team retrospective, planning conversation or facilitated workshop organised by your company. Leave the middle of the day open for lunch, rest and an optional outdoor walk appropriate to the weather and group. Finish with a communal evening that doesn't require a projector.
Day 3: decide what goes back to work
A short closing discussion, breakfast and departure at a realistic pace. Take away a few decisions and relationships rather than a folder of unused workshop slides.
Getting there is part of the planning
The Valley is not a roadside event hotel. The published default access is via the designated parking near Chereshovo. In normal conditions a standard car can reach that parking area, but it should not continue beyond it. The site states approximately 2.5 kilometres, around 45 minutes on foot, from parking to the village, or an appropriate transfer arranged ahead of time. Group arrival, luggage, seasonal weather and accessibility need to be planned before confirming participants.
Teams travelling from Sofia or elsewhere in Bulgaria should check their route and allow for the final mountain approach. Do not assume everyone can walk the route, and do not advertise automatic doorstep parking or accessible facilities without confirmation.
For which teams is The Valley right?
Good fit: Small and flexible teams seeking an unusual private mountain setting; founders' retreats; creative residencies; intimate strategy offsites; groups who want genuine outdoor time and can plan logistics ahead.
May be the wrong fit: A large conference expecting a ballroom, always-on high-bandwidth internet, fully equipped AV, step-free access for every guest, or an automatic programme of professionally led activities. If your team needs these, ask first so the venue can assess the actual requirements.
How to request a useful group offer
Share the dates (or two possible weekends), number of guests, preferred rooming arrangement, whether you want exclusive use, and whether you need catering, reliable work connectivity, transfers or an external facilitator. We can then discuss the actual configuration and feasibility rather than advertise a one-size-fits-all package.
Frequently asked questions
Where can we do an unusual team building in Bulgaria?
The Valley offers a remote, private-village alternative to a hotel offsite in the Rhodope Mountains near Chereshovo and Ortsevo. It is suited to teams that want real mountain surroundings, shared fireside time and a flexible programme.
How many employees can stay overnight?
When all current units are available, The Valley sleeps up to 18 overnight guests: five A-frames (2 each), Luxury Cabin (2) and Stone House (up to 6). Private sleeping is in individual buildings; shared gathering uses the outdoor fire pit, BBQ area, hot tub and Stone House spaces. Request a confirmed rooming list or use the current buyout availability tool for your dates. Do not use planned future A-frames as current capacity. Tent expansion is optional, on request only, and does not increase the stated 18-guest fixed capacity.
Is The Valley a private corporate venue?
An exclusive buyout can reserve every active accommodation building and shared outdoor space for your group. Availability and the precise inclusions are date-specific.
Is there Wi-Fi and a projector?
Starlink is available in the Stone House. Do not assume guest Wi-Fi in every cabin, hotel-grade bandwidth, or included AV. If uninterrupted internet, meeting equipment or specific power capacity is essential, state those needs in your enquiry and get explicit confirmation before booking.
Are meals, team-building games and a facilitator included?
Not by default. The sample agenda is a planning example. Ask about available arrangements and organize third-party services where required.
How do guests reach the site with luggage?
Normal cars use the designated parking near Chereshovo. The published approach is roughly 2.5 km walking or an appropriately arranged transfer. Details depend on conditions and should be agreed in advance.
Can we book it from Sofia for a two- or three-day offsite?
Yes, you can enquire from anywhere in Bulgaria, including Sofia. Check travel plans and mountain access for your dates; no fixed journey time is promised.
A more memorable meeting doesn't need a bigger schedule
If your team wants fewer slides and more time together, look at the actual Valley village, rooming arrangements and exclusive-booking calendar. Bring a clear purpose. Leave space for the rest.
